They are reinforcing the precedence that you might as well not report a rape if a) you waited too long to build up the courage to come forward and/or b) you’re accusing someone with friends in high places.
So ladies, please - don’t drink when you go out on dates (especially not too much!), don’t take the guy up to your office if it’s nearby (because then you’re just asking for it!), and don’t wuss out if you get yourself raped (because why would anyone wait three months to report a crime like that (gee I wonder why)). And remember: if you text back and forth, then that means you know each other and it totally can’t be rape.
